Beautiful art and music, and a pretty decent storyline that weaves into each time period you visit. Combat is phenomenal, even if some bosses rely a bit too much on specific gimmicks. My only other complaint is that the final chapter opens up the game to too much of a grind-session just before the final dungeon. It brings the pacing to a stark halt. I quit here and watched a YouTube walkthrough instead of going through all the (mandatory) side quests. All that being said, however, Chrono Trigger really was a lightning-in-a-bottle moment for video games.
