I’ve picked up and dropped this so many times. It’s so fucking difficult for me. The slippery movement makes me feel like I’m ramming my head against a wall. Sat down to try and hammer through it for Mar10 day but just can’t do it. Maybe I’ll force myself to complete it eventually but for now I just don’t think I will

2010

Got 15 minutes in a refunded this on steam so I can get my 99 cents back, then watched a speedrun. Very glad I didn't waste more time with this than I already did. For years I've been like "Ooh I should play that" and then I finally sit down to do so and its the most tedious and monotonous trial and error puzzle solving. Hate being dropped in blind and smugly forced to figure out some boring world some dude made. The atmosphere isn't even good. It is black and white and there is a spider. Bad media. Still counting this as my one game a month followed so far

At least 1 single player game per month successful so far….. First metroidvania I’ve seen through to the end. Only bc it’s the little pink dude. Very tedious but cute and fun for just a passive game to play while chilling. :)

I probably won't return to this. Metroidvanias are just so hard for me to get into, especially when wandering through the world isn't really qualified by either collection or a cohesive central objective. Maybe I'm just a bitch that hasn't unlocked the joy of exploring a world for the sake of it, but idk. I know for sure this wasn't the one that did it

very cute + collectathon = made for me, however even those aspects could not rescue the excruciating movement speed and tedious central plotline. just let me gather the things and fill out my book. i'm not even typically one to nitpick over things like that, but even A Short Hike lets you explore at whatever speed you want to, so you can either hike the thing first and then go around, or you can do everything before completing the hike like I did. this game does not let you do that and it was pretty agonizing. i had to play as the grandpa? cmon. anyway cute and a fun way to spend a few hours i do not regret it. (PSA The European Shag is on the North Beach of LA ROQUETA!!!! Not "NORTH BEACH". Waste of thirty minutes hunting that sucker

i like when mario gets the cat power and he goes "meow meow!" that is awesome. I got all the cat shines and I wish there were more. I got told that I wasn't selected for a job that I really wanted, which is a serious damper both to my financial situation and my self-esteem. at least mario says "meow meow!" and it is cute

BOOOOOORRRIIIINNNNG. 11 hours of my life for what? Atmosphere trademark symbol? Themes trademark symbol? More like Lame trademark symbol! Exhausting tedious gameplay and one of the most disappointing final boss fights I've ever experienced. This shit sucked!!!!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Or, how u/green discovered he does not have the patience for classic point and click games

yup. yes. absolutely. i did everything there is to do in this game in one sitting because i didn't want to stop playing it. literally the perfect game for me. the PERFECT game for me. it has everything and my soul feels full and i can keep going and today's reason is this game right here

The sequel is clearly superior to this, but after yet another unbelievable shitty day in a long string of unbelievably shitty days, this little visual novel is the only source of genuine reassurance that I've been able to find. I am capable, more importantly, deserving, of good things. I am capable, more importantly, deserving, of making good things. People go through the same things that I do. The world continues to spin. There is so much bad and there is still good too, as long as I have to will to reach out and feel the warmth of someone else's hand. I am capable of grinding to a halt, of being.
