Who would have thought that a free pack-in could be such a fun celebration of PlayStation's past while also demoing the tech that will make up their future? The DualSense use is eye-opening and the platforming/presentation are just delightful. I want more!

Is it a hot take to say this is one of the best NES games? Everything about it, from the linear levels full of nonlinear paths, to the endlessly fun pogo stick mechanic, to that iconic soundtrack, feels just as good today as it did in 1989. It's genuinely timeless.

With this, I've now played every Yoshi game except for Crafted World. I used to think that this was one of Nintendo's weakest series, with almost everything past the original being thoroughly mediocre nostalgia-bait…

That's it, that's the end of the thought.

Yeah, I can totally see why this game is so beloved now. Each level introduces something completely new and each world has great atmosphere and music, especially impressive for a game made in 1994. Easily one of the best SNES games.

I am now the world's foremost Yoshi (NES) scholar. The difference between Type A and B? The four types of enemies that can drop? The 3 music tracks? I've experienced it ALL. ALL the content that can be found in Yoshi (NES). I am an EXPERT.

An absolute triumph on just about every level. Between the incredible characters with incredible writing/acting, the unbelievably intricate gameplay systems, and the unimaginable amount of content—it's easy for me to call this game a modern masterpiece.

That sure was Picross! I think I've got Picross fatigue from doing every single puzzle across 3 games this year, but it's nice mental stimulation for when I'm watching a show or YouTube video. (also I'm confused weren't they gonna add a dog in this one? 😕)

One of the best games I've ever played in my entire life lol.

Do I respect this game for defining its genre? Wholeheartedly! Do I understand why folks loved it back in the day? Of course! Did I myself have a good time with it? …yeah, no. By the fifth vague, repetitious dungeon, I decided I've played enough. This 3/5 rating comes purely out of my respect for the title spawning such an amazing series, because on its own... this would be much lower.

I am SO glad that they didn't rest on their laurels when making a successor to Super Metroid. The level design may be less open than before, but the disturbing setting and increased storytelling gave the experience a unique flavor that I adored nonetheless.

A great sequel that's not as consistent as the first two but arguably has higher highs. I can forgive feature creep and a shallow symbiote arc if it leads to this much cool shit. (All I ask is that 3 mixes things up some more.)

Big improvement over the NES original. The overworld is accessible and fun to explore, the dungeons actually feel designed, and the combat- well, that's pretty boring, but beyond a few REALLY annoying moments, it's still a fun game!

I just noticed on my most recent playthrough that if you pause the game for a few seconds Kirby does a lil' dance for you?? I love this series. Dream Land may be a pretty simple start but you can tell Sakurai knew his stuff since the beginning.

Adored this. I had my worries going in—Remake is a flawed game even if I love it—but they NAILED almost everything. The open world is a blast to explore, the combat continues to rule, and the character writing is some of the best in any RPG.

Admittedly, my view on Super is a bit skewed from playing Zero Mission first—but even if the more antiquated elements got on my nerves, it's hard to argue against the innovative level design that basically defined a whole genre. Overall, I had a great time!
