Man. I was really excited for this one. I had heard it was a good metroidvania, but I don't know where I heard that. Here's the thing, the game doesn't do anything wrong, but it also doesn't do anything right. Quite possibly the most boring and basic metroidvania I have ever played. Got about 3 hours in and had literally no desire to continue. The level design, the story, the movement, the combat, the upgrade systems, literally not a single thing about this game stood out to me. I'm not mad, just disappointed.

I went into this one expecting a precision platformer like Celeste and Super Meat Boy, so after playing the first level I was kinda disappointed when it seemed more like a traditional, level-based, mario-esque 2d platformer so I
was pretty disappointed at first. But then after playing further, I found this to actually be a somewhat unique blend between the two sub-genres. It actually does feel like a precision platformer, but with longer level design and a health bar.
Beyond that, the game is pretty solid. While the grappling controls are a bit awkard at first, once you get used to them it feels good to play. Level design is well done, graphics and music are well done, story and writing is solid.
All around I would definitely recommend this as a weird in-between of Mario and Celeste, and while it's not quite as good as either one, still def worth a play

I really don't understand how this is even possible. Breath of the Wild was one of my favorite games of all time, and Nintendo just completely blew it out of the water with Tears of the Kingdom. It's just more Breath of the Wild, and I mean MORE. Like, there's probably 2x as much content in this one, and not only did it not let up on the quality of said content, but it's better. The shrines were more fun and clever in this one. The dungeons and boss fights were way better. Combat was way more fun thanks to fusion. Even the story is way better here. I could rave about this one all day but it's my favorite game of all time. Must play no matter who you are.
