Blue Lions route is the best written route, as it is the most unique route, and clearly the one the developers put the most effort into. This game is clearly trying to feed off of fans of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade with all of the different experiences the game offers. However, the Blazing Blade did it far better. It handled it's racism plots so much better, and absolutely blows this game out of the water when it comes to the nuance and consistency of the writing.

Three Houses, however, tells a tale that I think Blazing Blade, and even some other Fire Emblem games could never tell. By forcing you to experience the first act over and over again, it lets you really appreciate how the different characters all experience the same events in their own way. And they all have similar, if not the same, outcomes.

These three lords, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, are fundamentally the same. They are connected with their beliefs, all wishing for equality and the freedom of all. However, it comes down to the methodology of the characters. Their life experiences, their childhood trauma, all lead them to this same conclusion. That the future of Fodlan must be different than the one they currently live in. Whether that's radically different or not, is up to them.

It is unfortunate, however, that Crimson Flower is clearly unfinished, and that Verdant Wind and Silver Snow are basically the same story with Claude as the leader instead of Rhea. Hence why Azure Moon is the best, even with it's glaring plot holes.

I could write full level analysis for each major character in this game. It's something I've lead several passion projects on, and will continue to think about for the rest of my life. It's an absolute dogshit mess of a game, filled with glitches and ugly graphics and horrible writing and morality, with a fanbase more annoying than SMT, I will never ever forget this game. I love this world. I love this cast. This is one of my favorite fire emblems ever.
