this game kicks ass
it's pretty much a perfect blend of immersive sim, tactical and retro shooter elements and it lets you do fuck all in its world, it's unapologetically indie with how much freedom it gives you
not to mention the mindfuck that is the artstyle and soundtrack, they become so appealing the more you progress that it becomes hard to enjoy anything that isn't a complete assault of the senses
underneath all of the irony of the game being created by "consumer softproducts", or one of the npcs saying "fuck libtards", or people being obsessive with "chunkopops", it carries a very nihilistic message which definitely rubbed some people the wrong way but i don't think you should take it that seriously. also i fuck with it so idgaf

TEN YEARS IN THE JOINT MADE YOU A FUCKING PUSSY

call me an 11 year old who just found out postal was a thing but for the life of me i can't stand most cartoonsy-scrimblo-bimblo games like banjo-kazooie, mario, etc etc but i feel like the first two rayman games, beyond just being very nostalgic for me, have a more defined sense of fantasy without being over-the-top with smiling clouds, trees and loud sound effects or trying to put a joke between every word, it just feels like a wonderous world not pandering particularly to kids. not only that, this game in general is probably the definitive 3D platformer of its time and to this day. it pulls off everything right, from the controls to the pacing to the collectathon mechanics and you get fairly immersed in this small rebellious world. i really doubt that you will hate this if you at least like action games and haven't completely forgotten how childlike joy feels like, as close as many of us are to that

it's not anywhere near as bad as the rating suggests
it's not a masterpiece, but i enjoyed my time with it outside of the clunky motorcycle interludes, fuck those. the story is impressive, engaging and feels like a 80s movie in a good way. i found the shooting to be pretty good here, even better than MGS because of some re-like mechanics and because i'm a filthy casual that likes auto aim on consoles.
while not sweet, it doesn't leave a sour taste in your mouth at all - the whole vibe is just kickass. oh yeah and the puzzles have zero to none visual clues, use gamefaq if confused

/v/'s biggest psyop is convincing you this is a shit game, it's actually amazing
it isn't anything like the first game sure, in terms of atmosphere or gameplay, but it's such a blast to play and considering the sci-fi theme is basically implemented in every quake game except 1 it'd be a lie to convince yourself this game isn't true to the series now. also fucking AMAZING industrial ost, same with q1 and q3

chuds will never understand that style IS substance
outside of an amazing storyline, satisfying gameplay with great camera work for a rail shooter (if you can call killer7 that) and how awesomely the characters' abilities are implemented this game just fucking shines with the cel-shaded graphics, the ost and the character designs. if not for those, maybe it wouldn't capture my attention so quickly. just try it, the only con i can name in this game is that some of the puzzles may disturb the gameplay pace a bit and make you backtrack a lot

the closest experience to watching your wife get cucked and beaten to death

untouchable masterpiece that still holds up to this day, a masterwork of level design (although it gets slightly less impressive in late game) and storytelling. it really makes you think about the parallels between the game and the real world, it's fucking crazy man. the best immersive sim pioneer, still the best in the genre and my all time favourite

this game is a lot more impressive than sa2, my old review can go fuck itself. there's definitely this feel of adventure and childlike joy, and the story is closer to the series' core instead of being y2k edgekino as good as that is to some extent. all of the character types control and play better than in adventure 2 (knuckles' radar not being fucking horrendous helps a lot) and (except for big) they don't feel shoehorned in, they play at least some part in the story and lead up to the finale. adventure hubs definitely make this game a lot more soulful as well as the shoddy cutscenes, it's just got a lot of charm
story is actually very impressive for a sonic game and the game itself is just very innovative for the series and for gaming in general, in terms of graphics and gameplay for the time, this definitely deserves a 7 at least but i'll add a point for nostalgia factor

fucking hell man. was (and still to a certain degree) obsessed with this thing and it's really hard to talk about this game without being biased. but yeah, the pacing issues are there, it's a coming-of-age story/baby's first murder mystery about anime kids, whatever the fuck. i will never care less about how shit it is since it's so uplifting and comforting, genuinely helps with major depressive slumps sometimes

snoooore mimimimi snoooore mimimimi
massively overrated story and gameplay that will bore you to death, name a worse duo. the characters are slightly better than persona 4's but that isn't really a great achievement

"oh look it's the dame da ne guy" HIS NAME IS JOHN YAKUZA

real bad problems with pacing where sometimes you just go around getting booze for some randoms, a mediocre battle system, a plot that gets a bit confusing but in general i enjoyed the game

like any other dreamcast-era sega title this game goes fucking raw, an arcade classic but fairly hard to master (and control)

this game obviously sucks ass, it comes off as predatory edgy wankery for 10 year olds (when i actually thought it was interesting) but there's just something amusing about rpgmaker cheese that's missing in modern indie titles

videogames are supposed to be fun, you know? i don't have any issue with the setting (except the piss filter oh how common in 7th gen games) but the missions are just so overly repetitive and linear, and the story getting practically nowhere doesn't help the gameplay any bit, the message is there but it isn't really solidified.
but it's really the best attempt in the series' history to make gta more like a crime movie rather than a meaty open-world crime sandbox, it's insanely polished compared to san andreas wastelands and rpg mechanics, the characters are memorable, the story doesn't feature area 51 raiding, even if not as good as people say it is, etc etc.
