Decent debut to a series, but has some jank in the controls (the cover system and jet ski sections). A very unserious plot twist as well.

ive seen this game constantly be considered the "worst in the series" and was highly advised to skip it from others, but honestly i didn't like DMC 1 all that much either and that game is loved by most. so i thought to myself, how bad could it be? and boy did i not realize what i was getting myself into.

the narrative is somehow more barebones than the first game, like by the end of it i couldn't even tell you what happened. there's maybe 3-4 cutscenes worth of dialogue but they're so vapid and lifeless, they might as well have not been in the game at all. the gameplay is practically the same as the first game with nothing new or interesting added to it.

the boss and enemy a.i. are non-existent. you can walk past all the enemies and they won't do a damn thing to you. the bosses fight are piss easy its not even funny. in fact I can't even say they're easy. they don't do anything to you at all! just hide in a corner and shoot at them with your guns. or better yet, activate devil trigger and spam the attack button until its over. the worst part about it is they even reuse a boss from the first game. just shameless.

the only """"good"""" thing i can say about this game is that the levels are now linear which is what i usually like but honestly is that even a compliment. i hear that the original creator had nothing to do with this games making and it shows

Very fun game, gameplay didn't feel dated at all and going into bullet time was satisfying every time. Really liked the comic book style of storytelling + Max's narration. It felt just like I was playing an action movie but as a video game.

pretty big fan of castlevania but i'm surprised i didn't play this game sooner. its essentially a remake of the first castlevania but with better graphics, controls, and soundtrack. game was fairly short but i still had a good time playing through this. i personally would say super castlevania 4 is a better remake of the first castlevania but this one is definitely worth a playthrough. also the soundtrack for this is stellar (expected for castlevania games but still worth mentioning)

Pretty cool atmosphere and aesthetics but i didn't enjoy playing this one. The combat was alright to me, nothing ground breaking. The lack of a block button caught me off guard since i'm used to games of this style having that and I don't think it's an age thing either because plenty games from that era like Ninja Gaiden, and games before that, had blocking in it. The story felt pretty barebones as well, all I got out of it was Dante is the son of a strong demon named Sparda, and Trish is a clone of his mother? something like that idk. Also the item store/leveling system prices are WAY too steep. I pretty much beat the game without buying much upgrades besides lives and health since the moves way too overpriced. I think if Capcom were to give this game the Resident Evil treatment and remade them completely, I think it would fare better.

What started off as a buggy/unfinished mess slowly became one of my favorite Street Fighters through years of updates.

The first berserk game made and it sure feels like it. The biggest issue with this game is that whenever your sword slashes comes into contact with the wall it retracts, leaving you open to enemy attack for a few seconds. This wouldn't be a problem because realistically swinging a sword as big as gut's would do that. However this game is littered with tight areas making it hard to engage in combat. If there's one thing i could praise about this game it's the soundtrack but that's about it.

One of the funniest and creative shooters I've played in a while. Don't wanna rank this one yet as the game is still in early access but I can tell this will be a personal favorite once ACT 3 is released. Soundtrack is also a highlight as well, great stuff.

The shortest game in the trilogy and gameplay wise it's the most refined Shadow Warrior. However while playing this I couldn't help but feel like I was playing a diet DOOM Eternal. With the addition of glory kills and being able to gain ammo and health from killing enemies, these are mechanics ripped straight from DOOM Eternal. There's also a lot of platforming sections but at least this game added a grappling hook and wall running so it doesn't feel blatant rip off of DOOM's. Not to say that any of the things I mentioned above hurts the game for me because ultimately I had a lot of fun playing this one but it was just something I noticed within mins of playing.

Big improvement from the first game in every way. The gameplay is more refined, there's a huge variety of weapons to use that you can unlock from doing the side missions. I wasn't too into the story but it had a lot more going for it than the first game.

cool concept but the gameplay got stale for me real quick and voice acting, story, lo wang jokes were just awful.

Flawed but by far the best berserk game and new favorite in the action genre. really well thought out combat system, sick kill animations ripped straight from the manga, and hype boss battles. I would've ranked this higher if it wasn't for the two worst levels in the game being a massive slog to play through and some pretty uninspired level designs. Fortunately the good outweighs the bad. A must play if you're a berserk fan.
