Movement defines this year in gaming for me. If a character moves sluggishly, or inhuman, I have a tendency to not be as invested in the moment-to-moment gameplay. I am happy to report Ghostrunner has excellent movement, and the core gameplay loop of slicing up goons and robots in a one hit kill scenario is very fun. You can find dozens of reviews saying how fun the game is, but I ran into these issues/gripes with the game.

-I thought the game usually had a fair and balanced difficulty, but I would love to see a mode for the game that allowed for an easier time, say you can take one extra hit before you die.
-The story is very predictable and not engaging. With the awesome world and lore that is set up, I was hoping for a story a little more substantial.
-There were several times, especially when parrying bullets that my click or input just didn't work. I don't believe this was because of my end, just some actions were not registered correctly. In some levels, wall runs didn't catch either and timing certain jumps became very frustrating.
-The final boss fight has a great system of checkpoints, but the others don't, which I don't understand. Even if it was an option, I would've liked to see more checkpoints in those levels.
-Levels do not save progress if not completed. Therefore, if you need to take a break halfway or just get too frustrated with a room, you must keep the game running or restart from the beginning of the level.

Overall, I had a fun time with Ghostrunner and I'm interested to see if the Mirror's Edge inspired movement-based FPS will come back with another entry anytime soon.
