Stanky hot take: I prefer this version to the original. I like all the character choices, I didn't miss the analog control. This to me is definitive Mario 64.

WELL DONE MEWIO YOU DI' I' AGAIN!

This is not an easy game to complete, especially with the infamous Pachinko and Chuckster shines, but its controls are tight, the enemies are unique for the series, and I love the tropical flavor in the locals.

It's very good, and while I like that the game goes back to the freedom of Mario 64, I feel like a bunch of the moons are a waste of time, and thus the game doesn't lend itself to repeat playthroughs like 64 and Sunshine do.

A barebones strategy RPG, what's not to love? Plus Lyndis is in it.

I love the original Link's Awakening. It maybe my favorite Zelda title of all-time. However, as cute as the toy visual style is here in the remake, I feel it absolutely ruins the dreamy, psychedelic atmosphere of the story, and that plays such a big part of the game that I had to dock this an entire star because of it.

I couldn't dream up a better Game Boy game if I tried. It's so different for a Zelda game, but it works, and its almost psychedelic moodscape works well for the portable platform. This is one game I'd recommend playing the original or DX version over the remake, as the remake's visual style, while very cute, ruined the atmosphere of the game itself.

I'm not going to go through all the cliches that everyone else has already said, but if you haven't played this game yet, do it now.

Good lord this game is tough, but it's close to perfection on the Sega Genesis. I think the game lacks an identity, and that docks it some points, and yet its varied settings across Europe still make it a valid curiosity in the series. The visuals are top-notch, rivaling the SNES in terms of graphical effect, and the gameplay is tight as you'd expect from the series. A must play.

Possibly the biggest masterpiece on the Genesis to not gain traction in the west, this 2D platformer is like a well-polished Zelda 2 with better hit detection. It's most certainly an RPG-lite with the ability to level up your items as well as your health.

The Arabic art style of this game no doubt went on to influence the Shantae series.

Another great western game like Sunset Riders, although this one is a shoot-em-up. Very unique control for the time, Natsume really nailed the fun factor here.

The prototypical Cowboy video game. Yeehaw this game rules pardner!

I feel like this game takes a lot longer to get into than the original, as I'm not really connecting with it as I wish I would. Still, a very good looking game, and a great returning cast from the first game will make this something I return to later.

With a super realistic setting for the time and a cast of memorable characters, it's no wonder why this game is still fondly remembered even to this day.

A marginal improvement over Pokemon Red and Blue, you have more elements from the anime here, such as being able to have all three starters, Jessie and James from Team Rocket, and a Pikachu that follows you.

The beginning of the game is a lot more difficult because of Pikachu (unless you catch a Mankey to help you), but the wider variety of Pokemon makes this the version you'll want to pick when choosing a Gen 1 game.
