It's a quick game, finished with 21 hours of gameplay on Veteran difficulty, that's supposed to be the Hard Mode before the Very Hard (Apocalypse is something else I don't want to talk about lol), right?

Anyway, some boss fights are not that great compared to the first game, the first Remnant we had a giant wood dragon (Singe) that spits fire, a giant colossus made entirely of wood (The Ent), a wood monster that splits in half (Riphide) endlessly producing a shockwave, a soldier that has shields and can make you fall from platforms as his strategy (Claviger) two giant butterfly like (Ixillis) monsters that could cause poisoning and shoot light beams from a staff, all this within the first 2 areas from the game, Earth and Rhom (Ixillis is from Corsus, but we'll make an excuse for them). The remarkable boss fights from Remnant 2 are the Faerin and Faelin, the Final Boss and Sha'hala.

The archetypes are an awesome addition, but the traits are sincerely useless, no crit rate or crit damage on the traits? No weakspot bonus damage? In the first Remnant I grinded for the max crit rate/crit damage traits, started adventure mode on Yaesha and farmed my way through the game to be strong enough with a Sniper build.Remnant 2 we rely on rings and amulets for these stats.

By no means I'm saying the game is bad, the graphics are great, the story is expanded but I wish we had more lore on old man Ford, but it could be way better. I plan to finish the game again, but now with my friends since this time I decided to finish it by myself and I'm looking up for the DLCs to see if they add the Crit Rate/Damage to the traits, if they do, it will surely boost my wish to play more.

The best game of 2023, a good mix of turn based combat, dialogue, world building and deep/complex companions and NPCs with their own backstory and quests, the exploration rewards you in so many different ways, read a book and you can unlock a side quest, dive on a city well and you might discover mysteries that lie below the citizens foot, write your own story! Be the good and kind person or be the absolute (pun intended) evil, destroy boxes, chests, use powder bombs or powder kegs, maybe put your enemy to be stuck with tentacles or spider webs, lit the webs on fire and the enemy will be on fire!

I really recommend playing Baldur's Gate 3 when you can, even if you don't like turn based combat, give it a try, specially for the Main Story and Side Quests, they're well written and contributes to the world building.
