A nice, comfy story about watching the stars.

If you're familiar with Konosora/If My Heart Had Wings, this story has a really similar feel but just with astronomy and stargazing instead of flying gliders.

The story starts with the protagonist who stopped being interested in astronomy after a certain incident happened. You'll find out more about why this through flashbacks scattered throughout the common route.

These flashbacks revolve around the protagonist and his two best friends from childhood. These flashbacks were an excellent way to show how the friendship of these characters formed and how their bonds affected what their relationships would come to be in the present.

Speaking of the present, as you'd expect, there tends to be some kind of important club in high school slice of life stories. What's interesting about Miazora/Sky Full of Stars is that instead of just dealing with one club at one school, there's actually an alliance of Astronomy Clubs called the "6 Stars". Since astronomy isn't particularly popular in an individual school, 6 different schools meet up together to do activities together.

It provides a kinda interesting dynamic because the all main 4 love interests in this game don't go to the same school as the protagonist. That said, the only schools that end up really mattering for the plot are the protagonists' school and the school the 6 Stars meet up at.

The protagonist starts off not taking part of the astronomy club, but it's clear he still cares about it deep inside. A lot of the common route is building up his interest back, and it leads to some very sweet, heartwarming scenes.

There are 4 main routes. 2 of the routes are the protagonists's close childhood friends, Hikari and Saya. The other 2 belong to Korona and Orihime, who attend Meikou Academy. All 4 routes relate to the astronomy in different ways and all have their unique personal drama and development. Orihime and Korona's routes are a bit more light-hearted, while Saya and Hikari's routes are a little more drama heavy due to some unresolved childhood tension that needs to be resolved.

The protagonist and the main 4 heroines are good, but there's a solid amount of side characters as well. In the 6 Stars alliance, there's at least 1 representative per school and they all have their unique, stick-out personalities. There are other characters not in any club that have some unexpected, interesting relations to the stories.

Miazora/Sky Full of Stars has some excellent presentation values. The art style is very bright and detailed, fitting of its storytelling. The backgrounds are very detailed, to the point you could almost feel like you're there in the story. The music is very atmospheric, with different types of songs fitting when they're watching the stars, going through an emotional moment, etc.

Keep in mind that as of this review, there's no official 18+ patch. The closest thing you have is a small patch that Machine Translates just the 18+ Content, but otherwise keeps the original MoeNovel/Steam translation intact. Speaking of the MoeNovel/Steam translation, this version will have no honorifics, will use first names in the text when the characters are clearly speaking last names, and localize certain nicknames. So you'll either have to just read a full All Ages version, an version with barely readable H-scenes, or just buy the Japanese version for the full unedited version.

This visual novel is a pure slice of life through and through. But there's a decent amount of drama, character development, and feels for those who want more meat than the usual slice of life romance story. Be sure to check this visual novel out if you want a slice of life story that ultimately just makes you feel good inside, and maybe gets you interested in astronomy.

The first half where there's no choice is pretty solid however, the thing about this game is that some route were obviously made to favor those that had better build-up in the first part than those that didn't. IMO there's 2 pretty well-done route, 1 decent route, and the last one is super lackluster.

75% is mid but BRO THE ENDING BRO, I WOULD GIVE IT 4 STARS FOR THAT WAIT WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE GIRL I DON'T REMEMBER IT'S THE TWINTAIL ONE BROOOOOO THAT WAS GOOD I KNEEL FOR THAT, I KNEEL
