Akemi-tan

My name is Shimoda Shimoko, currently living in a small village protected by the God named The Ou. Villagers are here required to bring offerings to the God every day in exchange for the God's protection. It's heard that if anyone broke this rule or ate the offering, the village would be attacked by the evil spirits and devastated in the end. But no one has ever done that so no one knows if that is real. I guess that is just a very old rumour, old enough to be forgotten by the God himself maybe. Oops, did I mention that today it's my family's turn to provide offerings? I'd better go now...

the art is good horror-wise at some points but that's all it has. everything else about this, from the puzzles to the writing, is bad. don't waste your time.

posrałyśmy się z igą ale ze śmiechu

gameplay consists of checking every tile in a house several times over until something spooky happens, rinse repeat. to quote the game, "Toilet."

PSA Do not play this game if you are upset by very graphic imagery of gore/violence and sometimes people getting choked to the point of vomiting it's really only like, 2 scenes but they're pretty fucking graphic

Akemi-tan is a game that is not necessarily good, but is full of charm for a lot of the wrong reasons and was clearly made by, at a bare minimum, a couple of kids that watch anime and wanted to make something scary and I love it for that.

There's really not a lot going on in this game and I don't have a lot to say about the aspects of it as a GAME, because as a game it's honestly not great, but it's just the experience of playing it that gave me a big stupid grin on my face. A horrible translation that is laughable at times, which I can't fault it for if I had to assume they probably did it themselves but it made for a good laugh. A pretty standard story that does a lot of albeit very typical things you'd expect from something like this, but has a lot of ignorant charm that I can't put to words well enough. I haven't played a lot of these old RPG maker games yet but even of the popular ones I've played a lot of them don't capture the almost genuine... passion, that this game possibly has. Still recovering mentally. Also the music in this game is fucking hilarious it doesn't exist anywhere on youtube besides this one song which is actually pretty good but I'll never recover from the whiplash of watching a room full of people and 1 panda debate over sacrificing a villager to their angry god over a midi rendition of royalty free christmas music

Lastly, as just a horror piece, it's this games strongest suit. Criticize all the faults of this extremely amateurish game but it's imagery that evokes it's horror senses is really well done, genuinely really creepy at times. Wish I'd gotten some screenshots of them besides just this one, but I at least got this one, and this one too.

So give this game a try if you like amateurish games made by 2 young people with a dream and possibly want a bit of a laugh out of it

Dont play this game it fucking sucks
