Ark Noir is a resource management-heavy RPG in which you’ll use a wide variety of Perks to build characters to your liking and take advantage of all sorts of seemingly randomly appearing items in order to survive the extreme conditions in which you find yourself.

Ark Noir is not very good. As an RPG it is unfair levels of difficult, with many situations being unbeatable without the benefit of hindsight. As a story it is segmented and weird, with no resemblence of pacing due to the high difficulty. Visually it is disjointed, with some out there, hard to explain monster designs placed in deeply repetitive environments
And yet despite, or maybe because of that, I grew weirdly fascinated with this game for a few evenings, trying to find a way to break through the sheer insourmountable difficulty as I go through the exact same levels and events over and over again.
