This game is infuriatingly unfair, and although the soundtrack rocks, the 30th time it loops around it gets a bit annoying.

Why is it so hard to just make a DMC clone and slapping Blade on it? I don't want to fight with my analog stick.

С начало проходя первую компанию в игре я подумал блин мейби это игра на 5 или 6 чисто такой приятный шутерок на вечерок без хуйни но проходя игру дальше я думал: что это за пиздец такой как такое может быть в 21 веке

Blade 2 is bad, and at times very bad. Trying to figure out why I ever played this.

Not your typical movie tie-in

Excruciatingly mid, but not for lack of trying. Blade II features a unique combat system that uses the right thumbstick to punch (or kick) with 360° precision. Vampires surround you while you strike the one behind you, then in front, and then maybe to your right in quick succession. It works surprisingly well and is rewarding, but lacks much impact or feedback due to the bad animations and sound design. It’s hard to tell whether you blocked an attack or not, and it’s hard to tell if you got a counterattack or not. The feedback overall is just so lackluster.

The level design is simple. Not bad nor good. Better than walking down a lifeless corridors, but there’s nothing new or unique. Your basic “flip this switch to open a door” or “destroy these objects around the level”.

The most infamous part of this game is the escort missions. When people say “I hate escort missions” this is now the game I think of. Your companions will run off without you protecting them, they have hardly any health, and if you have to go searching for health or ammo it’s all but over. These missions take the game from a unique and enjoyable romp to torture.

Is it worth checking out? I guess so, because of how unique the combat is. Just keep your expectations in check.
