ChilloutVR, in it's current state, is NOT a replacement for VRChat. I wouldn't say so in the future either. But it has a ton of potential to be so.

CVR has a couple new features that VRC lacks, such as sharing private avatars with others, much more refined performance settings and even props that you can summon in any world. These are all really awesome additions that makes VRC look outdated.

However there's still a few big problems that keep it from being an outright replacement, or even alternative to VRChat. The UI is pretty clunky to use and can become a little difficult to navigate at times, and while the ability to fine tune how much of an avatar can be seen is nice, an overall avatar ranking system like VRC's would also help. Lastly, the game doesn't run well when on older hardware. Sure a system at minimum requirements may run fine on desktop mode, But it runs horribly in VR mode when with other people.

I'm not trying to say that ChilloutVR is a bad game. It's great! However, it needs more time in the oven before I can truly call it an alternative to VRChat. That early access label is there for a reason.

I can see potential, but there isn't much to do currently. The people I spoke to were very nice, but unless there is more content, I can see myself getting pretty bored very quickly.
