A boxing game that straddles the line between arcade and sim. Known as Victory Boxing 2 in Europe, Contender was the first title in the series to be released outside of Europe.

Good colorful graphics and charismatic characters, but ends right there. The gameplay is super heavy which is a sin in fighting games, making the combat slow and clunky. Few game modes and a small character roster does not help either. This game will be forgotten within time.
