personally preferred mutant year zero. while this game is arguably better balanced it felt worse in some ways. missions often go back to the same levels that you've already been to. writing is far worse than MYZ. nonexistent characters (the main party members are literally drones) and the story/lore are much less interesting, feeling like a more cliched dystopian setting- none of the charm that MYZ had with its party banter and exploration of the world. progression feels less satisfying than MYZ, with skills changed from level up rewards to mission rewards, stat level ups and weapon upgrades removed, and exploration being much less rewarding (no equipment to be found, no currencies, limits on carried consumables). though, this game still has the solid foundation for the gameplay, and expands on it in some interesting ways such as the enemy squads mechanic, as well as extra skills and weapon types. the addition of mission and bonus objectives is good. and for some people, the removal of linear upgrade systems may be preferable, as it puts more emphasis on the strategy and making good builds. overall still a solid game, would recommend for fans of MYZ's gameplay or similar games.

Most people will probably like "Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden" more, but this game carries over those systems into a nice no-frills package.
