Demon Attack is an arcade action game with gameplay similar to Space Invaders. You control a laser canon at the bottom of the screen, and need to destroy wave after wave of brightly colored demons. The demons bounce around the screen in bizarre patterns, and try to destroy your canon with bombs or lasers. When you shoot a demon, it will be replaced with another or will split into two smaller demons depending on which wave you are playing. When the required number of demons for the current round is finally destroyed, you can move on to the next, more difficult round.

Another Space Invaders type game, but what I don't get here is that only the lowest enemy actually attacks you. The others just fly around. On top of that, the lowest enemy barely even tries to go after you, it mostly just floats shooting at empty space.

Demon Attack is pretty fun and graphically pretty impressive for the time. It's pretty good in most regard though I don't know if it's something I would say is a must play.

one of the best 2600 shooters, imo. the appeal here is the simplicity - think Galaga or Phoenix, but with weird, demon-bird-aliens as enemies and some really tricky but addictive & tight gameplay. this one was put out by Imagic, who i'd consider the best company working for the console at the time. check out their other games too, especially Atlantis (duh), Dragonfire, Cosmic Ark, and No Escape.
