It does a ton right when it comes to gamifying detective work, but I can't recommend the overall package. The biggest issue is that it's just way too short in an unsatisfying way. The version I bought was just called "Detective Grimoire" without the "Secret of the Swamp" subtitle, so I had no idea the whole game would just be the one extremely simple (and far too obvious) mystery. I thought this was like the tutorial case where everything is really easy because they are teaching you the mechanics and then the real game would start afterward with a challenging follow-up case, but no, it's just the one way-too-easy mystery.
I liked all of the individual gameplay mechanics but they felt like they were left at the tutorial stage without even a hint of challenge in the puzzles or any real thought required in the deductions. On top of that, I disliked all of the voice acting and thought the music sucked to the point of nearly just muting it. It has its charm though, and I liked the way it gamified detective work enough to consider giving the sequel a shot at some point

besides me calling the suspect from the first time i met him but wishing i was wrong because it was too obvious, this was a great game all around
really enjoyable deduction with enough choice but also enough limitations that i never had to feel stupid, genuinely good voice acting and great animations and a fun cast of characters
good click em up

Adorable game with simplistic gameplay. It's really good for what it is; don't expect challenging mini games. The animations and the characters are incredibly charming. They did such a great job that it's fun talking with everyone. The soundtrack feels a part of the game's setting and tone.
You play as a detective that travels to a swamp for a murder. There's no gore; this is a very tame game. There are a few mini games like "solving" a locked door or matching colors. The majority of the game is finding clues and speaking with your suspects; you can ask about clues you find or other suspects. You have a book that tracks everything you find and shows what you're missing. Super helpful! Later there are interactions to put two connecting thoughts together to get a new clue.
It is short but I did enjoy my time. Never felt like the game was dragging. It feels like there's an overarching story; I'm interested to see how that plays out. Only real negative. The game looks to be set up for a phone or tablet. The game did appear somewhat pixelated on my PC monitor. Maybe from the size? Not a deal breaker but it's noticeable.
