Divi-dead tenta, ele realmente tenta, mas não o suficiente para você apreciar pela tentativa como um belo filme chinês ou que consegue na tentativa
Ok, sejemos justos, a versão traduzida do inglês e para linguas subsequentes são horríveis e infiés, e pra uma visual novel isso é terrível
O sistema é básico, pois as únicas escolhas que você faz são de cenário, mas não é intuitivo a sequência e nem o que isso afeta. Você pode pegar um dos 3 finais que não explicam, não complementam, ou só são ruins. Isso torna o jogo cansativo e parado sem um guia, e bem, se for pra jogar com um guia
A narrativa é meio básica, o que não é um problema pois bem, você veio jogar um jogo de PC-98, você sabe do que se trata, mas as cenas de eroge parecem claramente jogadas, o que é interessante. Não parece que esse jogo queria se vender pelo pornô, e sim pelo resto, e no fim ele não sabe o que quer ser, não se encontra. É realmente confuso
O jogo tem pouquissimas músicas. Memoráveis, admito, mas poucas, o que facilita ainda mais a fadiga
Pois bem, sendo sincero, me diverti. Eu descobri que Inkey University rouba umas coisas desse jogo, e todo o resto é relativamente divertido até, se você estiver aberto a só querer gostar. Específico, mas bem, pra um jogo meia bomba, tem que se permitir

the game's use of paranormal stuff is just an excuse to make all the females want to have sex with the protag, which is lame. though the ost and aesthetics of this hit just right, gives me a late 90's to early 2000's experience that is neat

I got most(?) of the way through, only stopping because i was just so bored (I stopped somewhere after the part where Sonozaki's true identity is revealed) and will be reviewing considering the English translation I was playing it with.
I found the plot hard to follow, particularly the lore. it could've been the translation which got downright goofy sometimes. though to be honest, I don't think a better translation would've helped much. the story that was there wasn't anything special, it was a ton of slog just for some mildly interesting developments that to me felt like too many horror tropes.
i enjoyed a couple of the characters like Yuta, he's an asshole with a cute face and is honestly the best character, and the reason I kept playing lol. Most of the characters were pretty uninteresting, though. I did really like the art style, the characters themselves were cute and well drawn, but any attachment i got to them was mostly because of that... I will say i was surprised that this VN was fully voiced, and it did help to lend the characters a bit more life. the eroge parts were as usual kind of arbitrary and at random moments (i got a LOT of funny out-of-context screenshots of the translation during these parts to send to my friends, a handful of which ive transcribed for your enjoyment:
"I'm blasting!!!!"
"Let's.... achieve mutual liquid nirvana...."
"Ahhhh!! Shove your eggplant in me, Ranmaru!! Shove it up to my ribcage!!!"
"Her soul breathes me in through her wet womanfold..."
not to mention ranmaru and azusa being like "mami's dead.. thats so sad :'(" and then IMMEDIATELY, like two clicks later, they start going at it LOL..
I can't even complain because these absurd moments were a relief when I was trudging through mind-numbing non-plot. one of the stars is probably for that alone... actually i wouldn't be surprised if the translators knew and did it on purpose hehe
overall, i wouldn't say it was unbearably awful or anything, but it was just missing a lot of stuff to me. I wanted to like it! maybe i'll finish it all the way someday and see if that changes my review, however even if the ending happened to really impress me my complaints so far would likely hold.. I'd like to see what other people think of it for sure
