Yes, my first association also was The Witness. Those kinda puzzles, but with more story (and no pseudo-philosophical lectures)? Hell yeah! It turned out differently. To be fair, the similarity with the quaint atmosphere and the increasingly more complex and boring getting puzzles is correct, and there is a story. It does cover some interesting topics, and is presented with the usual friction-bound personality pairing. The stark contrast between the increasingly darker getting atmosphere and the squeaky-clean puzzles is only increasing and unfortunately never gets resolved, taking a lot of steam out of the story's potential. It's one of the games that you wish were actual adventures and not mostly puzzles.
