F-Zero Climax

released on Oct 21, 2004

F-Zero Climax is the sixth installment in the F-Zero series and the third to be released for the Game Boy Advance. This is the first F-Zero game to have a built-in track editor without the need for an expansion or add-on. Custom tracks can be saved to one of thirty slots for future use and they can be exchanged with other players via link cable. If memory becomes full or link cable connection cannot be done, the game can generate a password for the track; when it is input on any F-Zero Climax cartridge, the password will generate the track instantly.

I'm still not sure if I like this game more than F-Zero GP Legend, but I prefer this game over F-Zero Maximum Velocity!

This is the ultimate 2D F-Zero game, borrowing advanced techniques like drifting, different turn angles, and spin attacks from the 3D ones, and also BOOSTO FAYA from the anime. Speaking of the anime it also includes three machine/driver combinations only seen in the anime including the Hyper Death Anchor, not seen in GP Legend. Really good soundtrack for being on a GBA chip.
The biggest complaint and the reason I would recommend GP Legend instead is that being 3 laps per track the races become very short.

this owned! really fun tracks, way more depth than the original f-zero as well. i wasn’t meaning to play this one first but i started it and before i realized it was the latest i just kept playing. real solid all around! bummer it never left japan officially.
