Centuries ago two unspeakably evil forces were entrapped in a Demon Stone while battling each other. Now three adventurers happen to meet by chance and discover the Demon Stone just as it breaks and releases the two spirits: a Githyanki general and a Slaad lord. Now only these three can prevent a war that will sweep over all Faerun. Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is an action RPG set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms. Take control of three heroes, Rannek the fighter, Illius the sorcerer, and Zhai the rogue, as they try to destroy the evil unleashed by the breaking of the Demon Stone. The player only controls one character at a time but can switch between them on the fly with the direction pad. Each character has his/her own attack and can perform combos by pressing certain button combinations, e.g. B + B or A + B + A, and even perform team attacks and a team super attack. As they gain experience they will gain levels and can purchase new moves (combos) or upgrade old ones with experience points. They also collect gold with which they purchase new weapons, armor, and accessories at the end of each chapter.

There’s an impressively authored and cinematic feel to the writing and environments. You can tell they wanted to make a popular D&D game so bad. The combat doesn’t come close the kineticism of God of War — which came out a few months earlier — and the experience can’t live up to its ambitions.

I hated this game. The characters were dull and boring. The story was dull and boring even though you can tell the writers thought they were writing something good. The gameplay is dull and boring. And most encounters have so many enemies that you would think it's infinite spawn. Despite the leveling up system there is no meaningful growth is this game. The wizard starts off with a level 1 magic missile spell. Why does his level 10 meteor swarm spell function exactly the same as magic missile. And why is Drizzt in this game? Why does he have to be in so many DnD games? It really feels like they shoehorned him in lol. All in all this game is a total waste of time but it has cool cover art so I'll give it props for that

At first I thought it would be an immersive and nostalgic journey into the Forgotten Realms universe, but after a few hours I had to give up because I couldn't stand the clunky gameplay. Whatever the story is, by today's standards I don't think it's worth suffering through such difficult gameplay to reach and complete it.

A fun action game set in the Forgotten Realms. Story was so so, combat a bit better. All in all I had fun. Played the ps2 version back in the day, and it was harder than I remembered. This time I played the GOG version and was glad to see it had controller support from the go. I could use my Xbox controller and set almost all buttons. It didn't recognize the triggers though.

Great style and story, but awful combat

What if LOTR TWO TOWERS was DnD instead of... basically DnD.
