This game makes me upset that the HD version won't be coming outside of Japan. This is a fantastic game that, while the adventure games and the RPG slow the pacing down, is still a solid hit. I would suggest downloading the fan translation and giving this a play.

the actual games are better than those in the first but i feel like a lot of the charm of the historical aspect has been lost. basically none of the games here are even a little hardware accurate and some of them aren't placed correctly on a real world timeline. triotos is awesome btw could be sold on it's own for sure

i want to get the switch port JUST for triotos DX

My real and correct takes:
Gun Duel and Wiz Man are based and fun, Triotos DX bangs more than the Gamecom Mini version, and the whole vibe of the game is fun and makes me nostalgic. The addition of the shop gives makes you more immersed in the world and I think baby Arino is a cutie and want a marketable plushie of him. The Daily Challenges are also good.

I must be insane, because I didn't find the games in this one nearly as good as those in the original. Wiz-Man's alright, Mutekiken Kung Fu's pretty good, the first Ace Detective is fine but the second was unnecessary, Gun Duel's fun but too short and easy, Guadia Quest Saga just feels like more of the same, and the Demon Returns games straight up suck. Oh and I guess Triotos is there, whatever. I still say play it if you liked the first one, though.

Overall better games here than in the original (Dragon Quest Monsters & Famicom Detective Club inspired titles can go die), but how did they get the bottom screen to lag so bad here???
