this is fucking awesome. stat raising bishoujo golf! it's perfect! shoulda sold a million copies. PLEASE let this get a fantran

Continuing along in my "playing sports games" thing lately, I finally wrapped up my playing time (for now) on this odd little duck!

The immediate charm of this game is the really really wonderful opening credit sequence that, like basically everyone on the PCE-CD (and Sega CD for that matter!), there's a full anime-opening-style opening sequence. It's absolutely just so lovely!

From there, you basically hop into the story, where you get to name your golfer gal, and then right into the meat of a high school sports anime plot.

After honestly way too long, you get to your first golf game and gosh, the actual golf is dire in the worst way sports games can be: It's obtuse and overtly complicated while also being deeply un-engaging. The hit power meter is either way too simple or so complicated that I couldn't figure it out.

I got through a few holes and shot under par each time? So I guess all was well? But gosh, you really just play lots of golf.

I can see myself keeping on with this at some point, but this gal has had her time in the sun and she can go back on the shelf now.
