Godfall Fire and Darkness Expansion

Played on PS5
Play Status: Abandoned

Oh yeah, Godfall DLC. After suffering through the main game, I wanted to suffer through the DLC. Well, as you can see, I couldn't. Oh I forgot to introduce the game. Godfall: Fire and Darkness is the first and only story expansion for 2020's Godfall. It's developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox.

Because this is a game I abandoned, I will mostly talk about why I abandoned the game and if I am recommending this game to others or not. After finishing Godfall's main story, I wanted to play the DLC itself. Very bad idea.

The first thing I really didn't like was the length of the main missions. These missions feels much more longer than a usual Godfall mission. And the bad thing is, the game can crash or there can be an internet problem and you can get kicked out of the game.

Happened to me twice or maybe even more times which was one of the biggest reasons why I abandoned the game. And the second reason is, it's more Godfall. Endless enemy slaying, bad combat, even worse enemy design and I was just done with it.

If you somehow loved Godfall though. If you loved the combat, I think I recommend this DLC to you. A lot even. Because while I didn't finish the DLC, the story stuff I saw was better than the main game. There is a new villain and it's first impressions were strong. There are nice cutscenes as well. And there is a whole new realm to explore.

But personally, I hated Godfall. And I came to my breaking point while playing this DLC. So, that's why I abandoned it.
