The object of interest in this game is the mysterious Valkiry Stone. Two treasure hunters, Axel and Ruka, set out to find the stone, but the evil gang known as the Pumpkin Heads wants to find the stone first. As either Axel or Ruka, blast your way through six side-scrolling levels against hordes of enemies, facing off against several bosses in each level. You can select from four different weapon effects (normal, bouncing, homing and flamethrower), use smartbombs and a grappling hook.

A game inspired by Gunstar Heroes from the team that would make my favorite JRPG series (Wild Arms)? On paper, it seemed like a great idea.

In practice, not so much. The game is quite frustrating overall, with enemies constantly juggling you, stages being too long, bosses taking too long to defeat with few attack patterns, lack of checkpoints before bosses, and a somewhat limited system overall for a game of this caliber on consoles.

A pity overall, but at least visually it's quite beautiful, and various elements such as some weapons appeared later in the Wild Arms games, so I can't be too negative about the game.

It's worth at least testing and playing a bit, but each stage will become more frustrating and require more and more precision than the last.

Hermoso juego de principio a fin. Run and Gun con shooting up horizontal. Juego complicado desde el inicio hasta llegar a casi imposible. Exige muy habilidad. Lo bueno es que tiene continúes infinitos.

balls to the walls hard gunstar heroes clone, but still fun as fuck
just be prepared for bosses with an insane amount of health
and to almost exclusively use the lightning gun that just locks on to everything (except on bosses that stay in one spot for long periods of time)

It's a pretty fun run 'n gun made by the developers of Wild Arms. I don't really have any complaints other than the weapons are bit too unbalanced. The homing laser trumps the other weapons in most situations, especially when powered up. Overall though, it's definitely worth trying out.

Amazing 2D platformer shmup, Gunstar Heroes but with the Treasure difficulty it was sorely missing
