Hellboy: Asylum Seeker is a third-person adventure game in which you play as Hellboy- Mike Mignola's comic-book hero and paranormal investigator. The game takes place in 1960's Prague, during Hellboy's early work with the BPRD (British Paranormal Research Division). Hellboy and Sara are investigating their missing agent Peter, who lost contact with his team somewhere in Czechoslovakia. It's up to Hellboy to uncover the events surrounding that disappearance, and set things right.

the first time i saw ps1 hellboy i genuinely laughed so hard i nearly threw up. this game is unironically terrible but oh my god shitty janky ps1 model hellboy brings me such indescribable joy he makes it all worth it

This is not a well made game, graphically or mechanically. However, this game does carry the spirit of a Hellboy miniseries.
I would not suggest buying a ps1 port copy of this game. Between it and a PC emulation, go with the emulation. The graphics constantly flicker in and out. Environment assets will disappear in certain camera angles. The controls (tank style) are very slow, and make aiming difficult.
I will say one thing that is in no footage on youtube: When you are finishing the asylum and end up in a cell on your way back, interact with the toilet in the cell for a surprise.
