This game is a lot fun when you aren’t looking for a long story driven game, it’s really nice to just sit down and play without needing to invest yourself in a narrative. I have noticed that there are some balance issues with this game; the arcane and pyre factions easily destroy the others. This, however, doesn’t ruin the game, but it does make the game less enjoyable at time.

Looks cooler and acts more complex than it actually is. Its all a big cover up for MID

divertidinho, complicado, mas ainda assim divertido

Songs of Conquest.

Whenever I play games like these it always disappoints me how shallow their design philosophy is. They mimic what they like without thinking of a way to innovate it or create something fresh.

For some reason, Hero's Hour attracted me as a fantasy fan due to the idea of conquest presented in the game's trailer, and with tiny pixel art creatures, although i heard mixed opinions about this game, i decided to give it a hand anyway.

Hero's Hour is the game that hooked me up as a newbie at western styled Strategy games such as Sid Meier's Civilization series and recently Battle for Wesnoth. The comparison between Heroes of Might and Magic 3 does not disappoint at all, as Hero's Hour is basically the indie equivalent of that game, except the combat is the real time strategy segment of the game which combat is resolved quickly Hero's Hour lacks of a campaign, but the core of the game emphasises on you conquering them all. Each game starts with you taking control of a different leader from a chosen faction, exploring the entire world completed with a detailed generation and encountering various monsters who occupy buildings that give you benefits.

Indeed, there are some problems that often occurr, especially the GUI's pretty unpolished for newcomers alike, which feels like that 90s western game UI rubbish moreso, and scaling it won't do any justice. One another problem is that this game is made in GameMaker Studio 2 (an engine i disregard for its limitations, even Undertale's made in it), which often is not quite the best engine to make a game where you control thousands of moving sprites alongside procedurally generated maps (for me, it doesn't matter much most of the time, but still).

As for the graphics, the overworld unit sprites aren't bad but they're not the best either, while face graphics is something i'd prefer to see improved upon.
