I really enjoy the Data East aesthetic, big chunky dudes, Two Crude even. Has super expressive sprite-art and is markedly improved from the initial game.
Plot ripped from any 80’s action movie, two dudes are called in by the government to save New York, which having just recovering from a nuclear attack 20 years ago - is now being taken over again by the Big Valley corporation.
It misses on the gameplay, having brutal arcade difficulty with only 2D movement… I sorta prefer having some 3D movement to avoid getting hit - a lot of deaths felt cheap.
The bosses are sick, really cool animorphs including a wolf man, bull man and a spider man. I used unlimited continues just to cheese it.
