Junkbot is a Shockwave puzzle-platformer that was hosted on the official LEGO website in 2001. The player must place LEGO bricks to form paths and stairways so Junkbot can reach and consume all the recycling bins in a level. The game would receive a sequel titled "Junkbot Undercover" in 2003. Despite being officially licensed by LEGO, Junkbot never appeared in any physical LEGO sets, though the "Haunted House" set from 2021 features a hidden box containing his parts.

Playing this again for the first time in 18ish years is a crazy experience, it feels like I'm constantly getting deja-vu and recovering forgotten memories back from when I used to play the hell out of this game on the communal family PC.

It also holds up! It's on the easy side but there's really good puzzle design here and the move limits for levels can really test you sometimes. This is the game that made me fall in love with puzzle games, and it's so cool to see that it's actually still really good.

It sucks when you accidentally kill Junkbot because you let a single drop of water land on him, but it all feels worth your while after you make two dozen moves on a 4-par level to see him munch on those yummy recyclables and say "oH yeAH"
