Pros: A nice companion game to Harvest Moon. Like Harvest Moon, this is a quasi-RPG game, but instead of farming, it's all about fishing. Exploring an overworld with your little avatar character, you look for good fishing spots, cast your line, and see if one of the pixelly blobs in the water bites the lure you have selected. Once they bite, you got a cool minigame of sorts of reeling in and easing the line, fighting to the catch! All in a cool 3D looking side-view of underwater too! There's characters to interact with, homes and shops, there's even wild animals you can confront, and you actually fight them RPG style. Wild stuff! But the feature I enjoyed most, was the ability to keep a fish you caught as a pet! You could decorate and customize your own fish tank and raise a little fish of your own, watch it do its thing, virtual pet style! It was cute.

Cons: It's kinda janky, not gonna lie, it all sounds better on paper than in practice, there's no real flow or sense of progression like there is in Harvest Moon. The overworld sprites and movement are a little funky, it doesn't feel quite as polished as it could be. It's charming, but it's a lower grade production value of a game.

What it means to me: This was definitely a game my bro and I picked up because we were addicted to Harvest Moon, and needed more games like it. And Natsume advertised this one to pretty much all Harvest Moon fans, so we bought in, and eh, it was a good time!

A fishing JRPG where enemies are monkeys, bears or crows even wanting to steal your catch, the story is simple but ending it is rewarding.

One of the worst made games I’ve ever played. Really wanted to love this one, a portable fishing rpg with gameboy color graphics!? I’m in. Why in a game where fishing is the main and pretty much only game mechanic, is it so damn hard just to get a fish to even notice your lure. In the five hours I wasted trying to figure this game out, and many online guides I managed to catch 4 fish. Another horribly aged mechanic is how you can’t walk and have your fishing rod out at the same time. Do not reccomend to anyone
