It’s crazy that this did the whole going back to previous Sonic stuff before it was over done. It’s honestly really ironic the game got more buggy after Sonic came out since he’s the fastest character in any Lego game and that’s not including Super Sonic. The story is nothing special for this level but at least Eggman isn’t the final boss. Also fun fact the loops in this game aren’t automatic which is cool even though they are kinda buggy and don’t work. This set was really hard to find for awhile due to the demand since this was the only way to get any Lego of the blue blur till last year. My main gripe with the level is that it mostly is just Sonic 1 with green hill, marble, and Labyrinth came back for some reason. For some reason the only 3D stage was Emerald Coast but I wish we got more overall.
From the developers of Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R, LEGO Dimensions was a multi-franchise LEGO game utilising NFC toys to unlock content. One of these level packs was Sonic the Hedgehog.
This level pack featured a story mode that lasts for just over an hour. It’s packed with references and humour. The game plays mostly like the LEGO games, but with movement mechanics based on Sonic like spin dash and homing attack. It’s a lot of fun.
On top of the main story mode, there’s also an Adventure World. This is an explorable 3D world that is made up of multiple Sonic zones, including Chemical Plant, Lava Reef and Death Egg. There are lots of hidden things to find and quests to complete for different Sonic characters.
I think it’s a complete shame that LEGO Dimensions didn’t get a release without the physical toy requirement.

It's obviously not too deep since it's just a little DLC game but I had fun with it. The gameplay is actually changed to fit with Sonic more and they even did things like change the Lego pieces to rings. The music isn't recycled from the original games and are instead original with the exception of a few level songs from Sonic The Hedgehog 4 and Emerald Coast. The music wasn't that good but I do find it interesting that they didn't use the original music. I appreciated some of the more obscure references to the series and building a tiny Lego figure of the Tornado was kind of cool. Overall it was a fun enough experience. These figures seem to cost more online than I'd recommend paying for it though.
