Holy hell this game is fun, really nothing quite like it. Unique strategy with AI controlled heroes that do what they want. Charming art, music, characters, a truly classic PC that I always revisit every few years.

This game is good! and there's nothing else quite like it. it's sort of an RTS, sort of a city builder, the whole thing is soaked in DnD trappings. The hook is that you're the monarch of a small fantasy kingdom, and you need some quests gone on and some artefacts recovered, you need to be protected from the various monsters of the realm. unlike a traditional RTS though you don't get direct control of the units, they're all their own people. instead you build guild halls where you can hire heroes and let them go off and fight monsters and collect treasure, if you want to focus on something you put a bounty on it. if your subjects are getting slaughtered build a marketplace for them buy better gear as they collect loot and level up. Wizards use a magic system that's based places of power so you need to build out a network of towers to make the most of them, certain Gods don't get along with each other so if you need to pick which ones you want to build. it's just a real neat idea and I really like this game. underrated.
