Qué pésimo dlc, solo son misiones como cualquier otra cosa. Aparte de no tener una buena historia, el personaje no se maneja bien como de por sí es el juego base.
Actualización al 100%.

Marvel’s Avengers’ Spider-Man Hero Event is a disappointment. There are no villains and there is barely a story. At least Sean Chiplock’s performance as Peter was good and very representative of the character we all know and love. Combat with Spider-Man and upgrading him is as good as the other characters. He feels unique but his loot elements are still not good. Swinging is okay but other traversal abilities, they are not useful and they usually not work like they should have. A story like what Kate and Clint got could have skyrocketed this DLC’s score, because I really think that Spider-Man is the best character in the game. But in this format, it barely gets the mediocre score from me.

The Full Review(No Spoilers):

Was It Worth It?
The most awaited character for Marvel’s Avengers finally released. Spider-Man, is available now in game exclusively on PlayStation consoles PS4 and PS5. Weird right? Sony locked it in? Midnight Suns launched and Spider-Man on that game was accessible to all console players, so they must have thought that this game was going to be a big success. I’m sure Jimmy Ryan is very happy with the money he spent.

Anyway, back to the game. Until now, we got 3 post launch character additions. Kate Bishop Hawkeye, Clint Barton Hawkeye and Black Panther. Hawkeyes came with shorter, 90 minute story DLC’s with a new villain while Black Panther not only had a longer, 150 minute story but it also included 2 new villains, a new biome, a new outpost and a brand new enemy faction.

No one was waiting for Spider-Man to bring a new biome or enemy faction but I think most of us expected a new story and a possible new villain. There were also a bunch of theories. Well, the developers said that a new villain wasn’t coming but they said that they were going to do a story but they were approaching it differently from previous DLC’s.

Do you want to know what that different approach was? 2 cutscenes made by stills and a bunch of audio logs. That’s the story mode basically. It’s actually not even a story mode. When you start the game after installing the DLC, you need to go to the Helicarrier and interact with the web on one of the windows. After that, you get a cutscene and Spider-Man joins your roster.

From now on, you can play with him and level up with him however you want. But if you want to see the story, you need to follow the mission chain. The mission chain will give you objectives like “Kill X Enemies”, “Do X Missions”, “Use The X Special Ability Y Times”. So you will do those filler objectives and you will get audio logs. Sometimes the game will ask you to go and talk to some characters like Liz Allen but don’t get too excited, it’s 2 character models standing still and just talking.

So not much different than an audio log. And I have to say, there was potential here. Liz Allen could have been the new side character/love interest for Peter and there is even a person who could have been a villain. And I mean, when they interviewed the developers before the game’s release, they said that Spider-Man was going to have his own story arc as well as villains that may accompany him. They even used the “s”. Plural!

You can go to the interview I talk about by clicking this. Scroll down a little bit and you will see the Spider-Man question. And you will see the exact quote I was talking about. Story arc, villains. What a joke!

But, if we skip the story part; Spider-Man’s gameplay is really cool. I want to start by saying, don’t wait Insomniac’s quality here. Because that game was designed to be played by Spider-Man while Avengers was designed to be played by a bunch of heroes with different abilities. Still though, Spider-Man feels unique and I think it’s the most fun character kit yet.

His attacks and animations are just awesome. His suits are really cool. His special abilities are fun to use and of course his skill tree has deep customization that will make every Spider-Man different. His voice actor Sean Chiplock did a great job in creating his own take, I liked it. Peter Parker’s personality can be felt. And that’s a big W in my opinion.
But I am sure you are all waiting for the traversal. First of all, yes. Spider-Man’s webs does stick to air. But come on, it had to be like that. There is a desert map in this game, do you want to just jump to traversal when you play with Spider-Man in that map? My biggest disappointment however is the invisible ceiling. In the city maps, you can’t go on top of most of the rooftops. Definitely don’t think that you can touch the clouds by just infinitely swinging. There is an invisible ceiling.

The other problem is the wall running and wall crawling. In flat surfaces, they are okay. But again, in those city maps; it doesn’t work. The weird shapes of the buildings, the windows, it just looks too glitchy and it usually ended up with my Spider-Man just letting go of the surface he was trying to climb or run on.

Marvel’s Avengers’ Spider-Man Hero Event is a disappointment. There are no villains and there is barely a story. At least Sean Chiplock’s performance as Peter was good and very representative of the character we all know and love. Combat with Spider-Man and upgrading him is as good as the other characters. it.

how the fuck do you make spidey's swinging THAT BAD?!?!?

even epic games made better spidey swinging, this is just a shame.
