Grinding in games often gets a very bad rep, and for the most part I can't argue against that. Whether it's being underleveled in natural progression, or your storage system running out of iron, you might find yourself having to dedicate long stretches of time doing repetitive tasks for an extended period of time. Sometimes grinding can be a plus however, like when you need a break from giving the game your full focus. As long as there's a game underneath the grinding that you care about, it can be a show of dedication.
Mining Mechs is a game about grinding. It is about grinding from start to finish, and your relationship with the game never departs from that same grinding. If anything, progression just gets slower. I don't think anything about the game is that bad, but I also didn't find much to enjoy about it either. It was a fine game to get through a couple video essays with, but other than that I don't care much for it.
