You wake up with no memory. Your day is starting off great! Nepenthe is a hand-drawn RPG with a terrible sense of humor. Set in the strange world of Carithia, you play as a mysterious bald dude who lost his memory. Yes, you read that right. Meet some very polite monsters, and battle both them and your sense of self-dignity in epic bullet-hell fight scenes!

underrated! i can't lie that i totally followed the plot, but hand drawings, music and funny notes are worthing to check out this game ^><^

This was a very cool game. Visually awesome, I love the crayon, and I love that you can tell it was actually drawn on paper and scanned in. There did seem to be some visual quirks that appeared as a result of this avant-garde design choice, though, mostly in how things tile.

It's honestly programmed quite poorly, but to an extent, it's okay. I played exclusively in story mode, because these sort of shoddy-looking RPG Maker games tend to not have the most well developed battle systems and I was honestly just feeling something more light today.

My first playthrough went really smoothly, but it was only once I saw "The End (2/3)" that I realized there were probably other things I could've done. Now normally, I'm not a completionist, or at least, I try not to be, because it stresses me out. But I actually felt the desire to replay it and make different choices to see what would happen. I ended up discovering ending 3/3, but not 1/3. I believe I may have been on the route of 1/3, but I had to give up because I couldn't tell if a particular scene/moment/event was a forced lose because of how difficult it was compared to the rest of the game.

But still, very interesting stuff. Definitely a must-play for any RPG Maker fans out there.
