A vast improvement over the original, to the point that you should play this game over the first one 9/10 times. While the control scheme stays relatively the same, with only 1 attacking button, the roster has essentially doubled with characters new and old being added from all over the series and not just from Marineford.

The graphics still looks fantastic, and the story mode feels even more fleshed out than before. There are a lot of secrets to uncover, and it is such a joy to try and find each one that is hidden around each world.

With that being said, the gameplay still lacks the depth of its predecessors and unfortunately suffers from slowdown during more hectic fights. This is also exclusively in Japanese, so figuring out what everything means will be a bit of a challenge as well.

Despite all that, I still think this is one of the best One Piece games to have ever come out. Any fan of the series should at the very least check it out.

At the time i wanted a DS so i could play this game. Never got a ds but could get hands on the game.

This game has a lot of content and everything looks good. Sprites are wonderful and stages looks great.

Since its in japanese i could never take full advantage of this game. This game has a lot of text and so it really holds me back even with translations guides.
The older i got the more i see how clunky the battle system is, i have so much difficulty having fun in longs period of time.

This game could be WAY more better if the combat system wasn't so slow and i could understand the language.
