A fast-paced rhythm-esque game by ubuntor about matching key presses to reshape a constantly ebbing glob of sci-fi goo. A gameplay observation of the Nelder-Mead method, a numerical method used to find the minimum or maximum of an objective function in a multidimensional space.

You're not really going to find any meaning behind Polytope. It apparently uses some math theory coined the Nelder-Mead Method, but that's not something you really need to know. Largely, Polytope is just about pressing buttons at certain times while trying to get into the groove of the rhythm. It's somewhat cathartic in the sense that you don't need to be good at rhythm, but slowly eases you into the flow of itself. It's genuinely surprising how much mathematics equations, words lighting up, a spinning ball of liquid, and music can cause a sort of over-stimulation into a zen like mode. In a lot of ways, the game is very hypnotic and addicting to play because all it asks is that you press the button while all these cool things start lighting up, and telling you are doing great. It's short, simple, sweet, a bit strange, and kinda horny, but I'm into it.

It's an incredibly quick rhythm-esque experience about numerical methods and eye-pleasing morphing blobs. Available to play via browser on the creator's itch.io page, I highly recommend giving it a try to tune out for a little while. It's incredibly zen and very stylish.
