it took me 10 minutes to make Shinji eat the damn cake

Um bom modo de relaxar a mente

Randomly picked this up like a month ago because I really wanted to play an Evangelion game, but really none have English localizations. I picked this one up because I’ve been pretty into 3DS/DS gaming lately, and out of all the Evangelion DS games, it seemed the least text heavy. How I played this entire game was basically I had a youtube longplay with the english translation pack running the whole time and would look up everytime I wasnt playing a mini game to see what the translations are. It’s definitely do-able because of its short length. The game itself is based on a Chibi Comic take on the Evangelion characters, were instead of fighting Angels, they all go to the same school together and the whole game takes place over the course of one school year, starting in April and ending in March. In between there are 4 level mini games spread across each month where small narratives play out relating to that month. There’s a pool of like 6 mini games that come up. Some are just races were you move items out of the way. Others, (the one I dreaded the most) are like, preforming a narrative by clicking on characters and objects that progress the scenario. I only disliked those because they were a major pain to play, as a non Japanese speaker, needing to use the translate camera on every line of dialogue to try to make sense of what was going on. Otherwise, its not bad. It’s actually kinda interesting tonally, im curious as to who the target demographic was for this. It’s gameplay is like an educational children's game, with minigames that you have to do basic math and language puzzles. But, its Evangelion still. It would kind of be like making an edutainment game for like, Breaking Bad here in the west. It’s probably not that extreme, as the game is probably geared towards fans of the show as its kinda fan servicey, mainly revolving around romantic relations between characters as if it was a romance anime. But I think it’s still interesting that both of the save files on my copy are from what seems to have been Japanese young teen girls. Also, some of the music in this game has no right going as hard as it does, and I hate that nobody has uploaded it’s full OST on youtube. Specifically, May 3 song is so good. https://youtu.be/xeSLRWTdSq4
