So I really like the basic puzzle mechanics in this. It’s a bit different while still great and that’s important. But I don’t like the rest around it. The game is heavily pushing collecting and creating monsters to put in your team. To create them you need different currencies and to encounter the monsters during fights. There are over 260. You also level up the monsters and do this individually with currencies as well. Lastly, the monsters all have special skills and passive skills and the way all of this information is presented isn’t the best in terms of UI. The thing about creation and level up is also clearly going to be grindy and a must to advance later on in the game. I never really cared about gotta catch ‘em all collectathon because it’s just a nightmare to deal with for completionist types. And it doesn’t look like this will remain optional. Also, I think that puzzle games need to have some simplicity as a whole while offering enough depth. This along with Grindstone (another puzzle game I recently quit) are just not balanced enough when it comes to this.

The rest is good though, so definitely give the game a try if you’re seeking monsters collecting, creating and when it’s never enough how far this goes.
