Lovely little jaunt through a superbly realised low-res facsimile of Scotland (basically Edinburgh). Packs quite a variation of backgrounds - the inner city (princes street is easily spotted), the seaside, the aiport, trading estates etc - into just a handful of tracks with all sorts of details and nails every bit of the atmospheres it attempts to recreate. Even spinning through different times of day over the course of a race. Also got to love any time a game can look just as right at the highest resolution as it does at the lowest.

The car handling takes a minute to get used to with how easily your car's backend will go out and you're suddenly in a sharp drift but once you clock it the feel is solid. Not gonna blow any minds but it's more than fun enough to last the couple of hours it'll take to zoom through the tracks, which are meaty and well laid out.

Has a delightful layer of charm added on top via the interjections of commentary from (what is assumedly?) the dev and the little pre-match timecard animations with the mascot. No music so you'll have to provide your own but that's fine. You should always have the Wipeout and Ridge Racer OSTs on hand anyway.

Be sure to beat all the par times for a funny surprise.

From looking around it seems illegaldogs has dropped off the face of the earth over the last couple years which is a big shame. Would have loved to see them do more work. Hopefully one day!
