The system of this game is unexpectedly interesting; unfortunately, it could be considered its greatest strength and weakness at the same time. Second Novel is a huge puzzle, and you are in charge of fitting together the various pieces of information you will be given throughout the game to understand the difference/connection between 現実 and 空想 (物語). My biggest warning would be to not even think about playing this if you do not have a significant amount of free time, because it's pretty easy to get lost at times (section 2 is a fkn hell). Now, many stories have anterograde or retrograde amnesia as their main pillar (movies, novels, etc), but I think this is definitely one of the best examples of how to take advantage of such a theme and make it part of the game mechanics. At first it can be a bit tedious to get used to having to go from "fragment" to "story" constantly, all this to update the cards and unlock new possibilities, but when you really get used to it, it becomes quite entertaining, and it's "accessible" if you really pay attention to what you're reading. The problem is that I feel like this game relies too much on the system itself and puts the story and characters in second place. It has some pretty good moments (Chiaki's background really makes you feel that urge of "I must protect her!" and THAT scene in the library was one of the first moments where I expressed a genuine DAMN), but from a certain point it feels like you just have to turn your brain off.
