Sly 1's got excellent stealth-themed platforming, a solid look and feel, and, well, good pacing on paper, at least. The game doesn't outstay its welcome—I beat it within a day—but the mini-games and genre-divergent levels whiff far too often to fulfill their role offering variety, sometimes even sending the game grinding to a halt when combined with its occasional bouts of poor checkpointing. There's a stellar foundation here, but I was let down by much of the surrounding elements.

I first played this on my Vita back in 2016 and I had so fun I played through it in a day. Such a fun charming platformer. Now that it has been ported to the PS5 I am considering doing another replay

Also can we have another one please?

This game just reminds you of how much better 2 and 3 are. a very short game artificially elongated with annoyances like the lack of health bar and clue bottle system. the switch from run of a mill collectahon to mission based platformer/brawler is nothing but an upgrade.

Dont like the gameplay as much here as I did in the future installments but it still has that great charm

As the first game in the series, it introduces a great core that later entries built upon. The gameplay is snappy, the artstyle is timeless, but the locations are a bit uninspired and bland. The levels themselves feature fun gameplay but are still nothing to write home about. The collecthathon and time trial aspects are fun, but they have been done better. The powerup idea is great, but 90% of the powerups are completely useless, and I ended up only using a couple. Overall, it is a solid platformer that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

This was a bit rough to fully enjoy, but the levels were fun (only the Sly ones with proper platforming, none of the others). Some boss fights were fun, some were absolutely horrible. A mixed bag, but I was so happy to finally play the entry to this series after having missed it as a kid.
