Sonic Advance Revamped

released on Aug 17, 2018

Sonic Advance Revamped is a remake and reimagining of the original Sonic Advance on the GBA using the Sonic Worlds Delta engine; it's a passion project designed to be the definitive way to play Sonic Advance, with better hazard placement, a 16:9 aspect ratio, patched-up levels and bosses, completely redesigned Special Stages, the smoothest sprites from each GBA Sonic title (with some special cases and custom sprites here and there), re-implemented unused/beta elements, and true classic Sonic controls to make the game feel even better. Features set for the future include an exclusive Team Chaotix Mission Mode, 8 Unique Playable Main Characters (7 of which are playable in this Demo), a fleshed-out Tiny Chao Garden, New Levels and Music Tracks, and more! For this particular Demo, Sonic's Insta-Shield is swapped-out for his Drop Dash! This move will be an early unlockable in the final version.

Fantastic port of the first Sonic Advance game thus far, the additional characters are incredibly fun to play and the increased aspect ratio feels great. The levels from the original with questionable level design especially considering the screen size of the GBA are not present here however, will be interesting to see how those levels feels with more screen to work with when this mod is completed ^-^

There's only 1 and half zones in this demo, but I really look forward to replaying advance and hopefully the rest of the series in wide screen. There's even more playable characters planned, blaze and shadow are already finished. I'd be happy if it was just advance with widescreen, but I'm not complaining about anything extra. cough spike placement cough.

Through screen crunch, bottomless pits, and ass spike placement the advance series has held a place in my heart. Except for advance 3, lol , but I have a feeling that if they plan to do advance 3 revamped they'll find a way to make it more fun.
