Stop Dead is a really fun game, most of the time. The second to second gameplay is really smooth and a ton of care was put into the standard level gameplay systems. I also greatly appreciate how each run is really quick so if you mess up and die a restart doesn't hit you quite as hard as it could in other games. Insanely good level design, weapon variety, enemy variety, I love most of the major aspects of this game's gameplay. I just wish the boss fights clicked with me better. Those are currently my biggest sticking point with the game and over half of my 4 1/2 hours i've put into this was just getting stuck on those bosses. I don't think they're designed poorly though, just kinda over tuned. Outside of having insta kill attacks, those genuinely annoy me but that's not something exclusive to this game. Outside of gameplay the game has a really strong artstyle, some good music, and a story that has kept me interesting in seeing where its going.

Overall I'd say definitely give Stop Dead a shot if you like quick movement shooters. Its a game I enjoy a fair amount but just have some issues with the bosses that I personally can't ignore; but who knows maybe you won't mind it as much if you give it a shot

Really impressed right off the bat - Stop Dead has a killer aesthetic, great feeling parkour (which is good, cos if you stop moving at any point you will die). For those Mirror’s Edge sickos out there looking for their next fix - though in truth is more predicated on its on the fly combat puzzles. You force pull weapons, objects, RED BARRELS toward you, then dish them out strategically against the much stronger, more numerous baddies.

You will die, over and over, best to just accept it as part of its rhythm. Initially struggled with this, the cool self made set pieces are a destination not the journey. Short, distinct levels and scenarios - could be a race to the finish, could be a wave survival - the basic ingredients work whatever their configuration. At time of writing it is in Early Access, which presumably amounts to a few more levels being still in the pipeline. The only real telltale in my experience is how it almost completely eschews context & narrative framing - neither a strength or a weakness, honestly - it just is what it is, a perfect pick up title (specially on Steam Deck). Stop Dead only got on my radar because of a PC Gamer winter sale reccomendation list, and thank fuck for that - passing on the good will here 🤌

It`s so simple idea, but so stylishly and ingeniously.. i mean this web-like hands, with which you attract and throw any physical objects at enemies, which adds additional chaos to the pace of everything that happens around - and this is what an adrenaline "Hotline Miami"-like game needs, and good for me there was no “walljumping” here, jumping after sliding provides us with a fairly high takeoff into the air, also many battles take place in the corridors of buildings.
The overall art design is a bit weak, but cel-shading visual is always a win-win option, I stopped very often, ignoring combos, to admire the beauties of the cartoon world, but the music is quite average.
The plot here is purely humorous in nature, to let you breathe out sometimes,
The essence of the game "Stop Dead" is that you should never let go of the movement button, or the detonator inside us explodes and the level restarts, so even in dialogues or in elevators, we are forced to somehow run in circles, which is entertaining, although there are sometimes micro-moments in very narrow rooms when you are allowed to stand up, just so as not to hit the wall..
of course, it was possible to do something philosophical in the spirit of a dying person who cannot stop or the disease will consume him, but why, we already have the brilliant “Post Void” about it.
There are a lot of colorful effects, a varied arsenal (only the chainsaw has weak animation), I didn’t find a single bug, despite the “early access” tag, although I should note the rather low fsp on high settings, and also that only the first chapter is fully accessible for now, of the rest, only individual levels are available, I have already completed everything and new mechanics gradually appeared, so for now there is enough variety in the gameplay, I didn`t get particularly tired, there are also secrets paths with additional points, as well as a leaderboard and level scores for replayability.
To sum it up, i can say that this is a fairly strong challenge-shooter with high-quality realisation even in its first version.

p.s. Don't forget that you can't stop even after winning the boss! or that’s it - restart the level) And of course, it’s simply impossible to take screenshots like that.

Казалось бы так просто, но так стильно и гениально придумано с руками-паутинками, которыми вы притягиваете и кидаете во врагов любые физичные предметы, что добавляет к темпу дополнительный хаос всего что происходит вокруг - и это то что нужно адреналиновой hotline miami-like игре, и как же хорошо, что тут обошлись без "волджампинга", прыгая после скольжения мы итак получаем достаточно высокий взлёт в воздух, а многие сражения происходят в коридорах зданий.
Общий арт-дизайн хоть и слабоват, но целшейдинговый визуал всегда беспроигрышный вариант, я очень часто приостанавливался, забивая на комбинации, чтобы полюбоваться красотами мультяшного мира, а вот музыка довольно средняя.
Сюжет тут носит чисто юмористический характер, чтобы дать иногда выдохнуть,
Cуть игры "Stop Dead" заключется в том, что вам никогда нельзя отпускать кнопку движения, либо детонатор внутри нас взрывается и уровень перезапускается, поэтому даже в диалогах или в лифтах, мы вынуждены бегать как-то кругами, что занятно, хотя есть иногда микро-моменты в очень узких комнатах, когда вам разрешают встать, просто чтобы не долбиться в стену,
и, конечно, можно было сделать что-то философское в духе умирающего человека, которому нельзя останавливаться или его поглотит болезнь, но зачем, у нас уже есть гениальный "Post Void" в таком духе.
Очень много красочных эффектов, разнообразный арсенал (только лишь у бензопилы слабая анимация), я не нашёл ни одного бага, несмотря на плашку "раннего доступа", хотя должен отметить достаточно низкий фпс на высоких настройках, а также, что целиком доступна только первая глава, из остальных доступны только отдельные уровни, я прошёл уже прям всё и постепенно появлялись новые механики, так что пока что разнообразие в геймплее достаточно, я особо не уставал, также тут есть секретки с доп. очками, а также таблица лидеров и оценки уровням для реиграбельности.
Подводя какой то итог, можно сказать, что это достаточно крепкий челлендж-шутер с качественной реализацией даже в своей 1-ой версии.

p.s. Не забудьте, что вам нельзя останавливаться даже после победы на боссом!, или всё - перезапуск уровня) А ещё скриншоты просто невозможно, естественно, так делать.
