Super Robot Taisen GC is the first and only Nintendo GameCube Super Robot Wars title. It would later be ported to the Xbox 360 under the title Super Robot Wars XO, which had an online mode called "Super Robot Competition". This game received an English fan translation in 2021.

After completing all the main and secondary scenarios in this SRW, I can say that despite the flaws, it was worth it. I found the unit targeting and capture system unique, but at some point it became tedious. Unit capture was more of a fun than an essential function for me. Gameplay was fairly standard and not too difficult, and I appreciated the ability to level up in the secondary scenarios. The 3D animations, considering that the game is from 2004, were pretty decent. The soundtrack was really excellent. Overall, it was a fun game, despite some problems.

HA FIRST TO REVIEW THIS! Fantastic game with some of the best writing you'll ever find in the franchise that unfortunately peters out with annoying challenges and super drawn-out stages towards the end. Stay for the writing, but prepare for exhaustion with the game play. Might not be the best game for you if you are an L-Gaim or Layzner fan.
