It is time for a new president of Tamaworld, and the Tamagotchis are setting up an election to see who it will be. The planet is abuzz and some of the characters want to be president. The election managers hold a competition for whoever can do the most good deeds, become the most popular Tamagotchi on the planet and get the most votes. Tamagotchi: Party On! attempts to bring the charm of the virtual pet franchise to the Wii as a party game. Unfortunately, it suffers from repetitive minigames, a frustrating board game structure, and a general lack of polish. While the visuals are colorful and fans of Tamagotchi might find some initial enjoyment in its simplicity, the core gameplay quickly becomes tedious and unrewarding.
i never had mario party but i did have Tamagotchi: Party On! and no one would play it with me because it was horrendously dull

It's very cute and charming. It's not as good as the type of games its inspired by, but I definitely didn't have a bad time playing it.
