a great premise that if given more depth akin to games like football manager and ootp could be one of my favorite games.

i really enjoy that characters can be nerfed and buffed as well have having statistics to see what characters are really strong.

It starts off pretty strong as you make meta progression (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, so on) but winds up lacking any real staying power by the time you actually go on to win worlds. It has absolutely none of the QoL polish that could make the experience significantly more enjoyable, and not to mention the fantasy of actually raising low level players and making them into pros is dashed when you realize its marginally more effective to just hire the next tier up as soon as you can afford it. Investing time into leveling players just doesn't pan out.

Overall a fun novelty but falls short at being anything greater than brief entertainment.

A game that I keep coming back to to play on the side. It's surprisingly deep and offers a chance to enact interesting strategies and with the patches, constant engagement. That being said, the use of pro's names was cute at first, but also strangely pulled me out of it. The jumps between the leagues can be a little jarring (especially when your opponents stats are just insane). And in general, it's not super duper long. With all that being said, there is a lot of replay value and it is easy to stop and start. In a weird way, it became one of my comfy games. Now sadly, the game does not seem to be in active dev so there are some bugs that would not seem to get fixed. Mainly that cloud saves on Steam Deck does not seem to work.

I never ended up 'beating' the game but this game is fascinating to me as it perfectly captured the fascinating depth of the pick/ban phase of MOBAs and it's meta without the other stuff that comes with playing a MOBA. Unfortunately everything else is disappointing, the management aspects are extremely weak and really hold back what otherwise would be one of my favorite games of all time. Still a very cool unique experience that may be worth a shot if you like the strategy of MOBAs but don't like the rest.
