Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus

released on Oct 19, 2004

The sequel to 2003's updated beat 'em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus sets the turtle quartet on another adventure from the series' second season, this time allowing the entire team to work together via a 4-player multiplayer mode. Each turtle now has their own unique ability and special fighting moves that fit in with their personality: such as operating switches and computers, or moving or destroying stationary objects. In single-player mode, players can switch turtles on the fly in order to accomplish the various tasks. Throughout some levels, the turtles also have racing sections over various terrains. As players progress through the game, they can find secret items, abilities, and power-ups, including the original late 1980's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus attempts to build upon the success of its predecessor with expanded gameplay and a multi-dimensional story. While the cel-shaded graphics and four-player co-op initially excite, clunky controls, repetitive level design, and a frustrating platforming focus mar the experience. Its ambition outstrips its execution, resulting in a title that, despite having some enjoyable moments and fan-favorite characters, ultimately falls short of the turtle-powered fun it promises.

Küçükken oynardım eğlenceliydi

I played this game with my brothers all the time when we were kids, we picked it up again last summer and we had a blast

I rented this game from Blockbuster back when Blockbuster still existed.
I miss renting video games :pensive:

I loved this game as a kid, since the 2003 TMNT era was a big part of my childhood, but after revisiting as of recent, it’s definitely dated. A 3D beat ‘em up essentially that doesn’t feel good and lacks variety.

A game I intend to revisit someday, but it's not my priority. I got really angry playing it.
